Dave & John Hawkins are a father and son partnership from Dunsville, Nr Doncaster, South Yorkshire. We have flown pigeons for many years with lots of success at Club and Federation level. But it wasn’t until flying against the top racing lofts of Mark and Dick Evans in the year 2000 & 2001 that me and my father realised this partnership had something very special.

It didn’t take us long in deciding we needed to contact Myrtle Lofts where I spoke to Mark and placed an order for several pairs of latebreds for 2002. We couldn’t wait to obtain and start breeding from these M & D. Evans lines but once we did they immediately proved to me and my father the true potential of this outstanding family, they immediately put us straight into the winning enclosure, breeding winner after winner in their first year at stock.

The last three years we have continued to add more of their pigeons to our lofts which contains the winning blood from all their best lines including direct sons and daughters from “Jester”, “Carrie”, “Benetton”, “Nationaal Fideel”, “Logan”, “Ebony” “Belle”, “Solitaire”, “Band of Gold”, “Joe Jones”, “Rolls Royce”, “Saffron” etc. plus the new Vandenabeele blood bred by Mark & Dick from stock they obtained from their very good friend Koen Minderhoud. These stock birds have bred for us outright 1st Prize winners in Club, Federation, Provincial & National races.

Mark & Dick assured me and my father that these birds were ideal for competing at the highest level right through to National competition and how sure they were

Its a few years since you and your father first visited Myrtle Lofts to view our pigeons with the intention to purchase. Both my father and I soon realised we were dealing with two genuine outstanding fancier. Since then we have built a good friendship which we both hope will continue for many years to come.
